Aries (March 21-April 19): Pie
Who better to stir up conflict at Thanksgiving dinner than a sign ruled by Mars? An Aries does not shy away from any conflict and can be seen as impulsive. The first conflict that may arise is which pie to get. Regardless, you’ll be what everyone fights over for the last slice during dessert. Anything to create some competition will end the holiday with some tension, then off to Black Friday shopping.
Taurus (April 20-May 20): Ham
With ham as an alternative star of the meal, everything else gets planned around you. You are the backbone of the meal and know what you want at the table. Even though it is a lot of work to be the main part of the dinner, it’s a good way to get out of your comfort zone and work to be the best — maybe even take some chances with your flavor.
Gemini (May 21-June 20): Cider
As the master of communication, you know drinks are the best way to keep people socializing. During dinner everyone is eating and their mouths are full. As the seasonal drink, you know what gets a conversation going and the best time to talk. Before the meal, in between courses or after the whole dinner are the ideal times to talk to with the people at your Thanksgiving table.
Cancer (June 21-July 22): Gravy
As the loyalist of all signs you are gravy, you make sure the star of the show doesn’t dry out. You complement most items on the dinner table. At first, your place may not seem prominent, but your absence would be missed greatly if anyone left you out.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Turkey
The lion sign is the natural leader. As the turkey, you are the classic star of Thanksgiving. The star of this holiday knows how to bring others together. Even though you can’t prevent awkward and uncomfortable family conversations, you try to bring out the best in everyone with the vibes of the holiday.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Potatoes
You like order and nothing says order like the traditional potatoes. While classically mashed, you can change your style a little bit as a casserole, roasted or scalloped, just as long as you have a plan to execute perfectly. You may become anxious and in dire need to stick to your plan, but try to remain calm this Thanksgiving and enjoy the day off and the feast.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Squash
Libra is the balance sign and squash adds a lightness to otherwise heavy meal. You also bring a healthier element to a day usually loaded with carbohydrates. This does not mean you’re the boring food no one wants to eat. You are needed to balance out the weight of the rest of the night. Just don’t let the conversations only be about you.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 1): Green beans
Green beans seem basic at a Thanksgiving dinner, but feel free to experiment. As a Scorpio, you’re naturally secretive, so surprise everyone this year by spicing yourself up. There is nothing wrong with basic, it gives you a lot of room to try something new. You’re a natural trendsetter so you’ll likely pull it off.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Mac ‘n’ Cheese
You are full of adventure and a bit daring. Even though traditional Thanksgiving tables do not have mac ‘n’ cheese, everyone knows they’re in for a good meal when you’re present. It’s a slight risk to deviate from traditional, but you have never been one for repetition. You always need something new and when Thanksgiving comes, you’ll figure out what adventure you’ll have.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Cornbread
You are a natural leader in your profession or at the start of Thanksgiving dinner like cornbread. While you are not the star of the entire day, you have your shining moment. You are the precursor to a big meal and are preparing everyone else for the journey they are about to embark on. Spending time with your family and other hard workers will keep you in a good mood.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Stuffing
You are a real team player. Not only do you contribute flavor to the star of the meal, but you also know how to stand on your own. Known to be objective, you’ll try to keep family conflicts at bay and think logically about the issues. Even though you don’t like to be the center of attention, you are the type of person everyone will want to talk to during the meal.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): Cranberry sauce
As a Pisces, you are directed by two opposites. Choosing between a chunky or smooth texture of cranberry sauce just depends on who you’re with. While people may try to talk to you in while multiple conversations interfere, you’ll just want to get lost in your own thoughts and eat your food in peace. While you can enjoy your deep thoughts, don’t forget about family and try to talk with those at your table and you can daydream later.
