“After high school, most white girls go to college,” Lillian explained to Kimmy in her typical deadpan fashion in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”’s official Season 3 trailer, released on Netflix April 19.

Fans of Kimmy, Lillian and Titus’s antics are anxiously anticipating the return of the Netflix original series, created by Tina Fey, on May 19, but can tide themselves over with the trailer until then — there’s a lot to unpack.

For starters, there’s the fact that our little Kimmy (played by Ellie Kemper) is going to college. It’s unclear when she finally finished her GED (she slept through the exam after spending all her energy trying to keep Dong, her ex-boyfriend, from getting deported in an episode last season), but that’s brushed aside.

She’s presumably attending the same school as Xanthippe, the oldest daughter in the family she nannied for and her pseudo-nemesis from Season 1, which is bound to lead to drama.

Breakups also seem to be a central plot point of the season. Lillian (Carol Kane) and her lover, a fictionalized version of Robert Durst (played by Fred Armisen), have apparently just ended things. Titus returns from his four-month-long cruise ship stint, only to see his boyfriend Mikey walking into his apartment with another man.

This leads to Titus (Tituss Burgess) hilariously “Lemonade-ing”: embarking on a reenactment of Beyonce’s video for “Hold Up,” clad in a knockoff version of the iconic yellow dress she wore and taking a bat to his scheming lover’s car, as she did. However, Titus (unlike Beyonce) has to deal with the real life consequences.

While they’re dealing with their love woes, things seem to be looking up for Kimmy on the relationship front. After things never worked out with Dong, she’s been on the market — it’s only right that a new suitor appears to be in store this season. Her new guy is shown presenting her with a “sexual consent form,” which Kimmy reacts to with her trademark naivete: “Thumbs are for hitchhiking and being Fonzie!”

Jon Hamm is also set to return this season, reprising his role as Rev. Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, who held Kimmy and the other “Mole Women” captive for years in an underground bunker — the original premise of the show.

The reverend is back and serving Kimmy divorce papers after the bomb was dropped in the Season 2 finale that he and Kimmy are technically still married.

Other returning guest stars this season include Anna Camp, David Cross, Tina Fey and Amy Sedaris, according to an article on popsugar.com.
