If you’ve heard of Taylor Momsen, you might be familiar with her acting career — — most notably her parts as Cindy Lou Who in How The Grinch Stole Christmas or as Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl.

If you watched Gossip Girl as religiously as I did, you may have noticed that Momsen spent less and less time on the show during the last three seasons. Why? Well, she was busy being the lead singer of New York-based rock band The Pretty Reckless.

The band formed in 2009 with Momsen as the frontwoman, Ben Phillips on guitar, Mark Damon on bass and Jamie Perkins on drums. They soon released a self-titled EP in 2010 proving they had all the angst that any fan of Momsen would desire. They later re-released the three songs off that EP on their 2011 LP Light Me Up.

Their 2014 album Going to Hell featuring their hit “Heaven Knows” proved that Momsen was more than just an actress-turned-rockstar, showcasing herself as a powerful singer and performer.

The band will begin touring to promote their newest album Who You Selling For with support from Them Evils starting in Boston April 25, with their second night at the 9:30 Club on the 26. You can still get tickets to the show, and if their albums are any indication of how they perform, they are sure to amaze.
