MK Asante, renowned author, filmmaker, hip-hop artist and professor, engaged prospective creative writing students in various literary topics, such as the analogy of language and the source of art.

During a workshop, which was followed by a lecture where he discussed his acclaimed memoir Buck, he encouraged students to be unafraid, promoting truth in prose and confidence in beliefs.
